Gayle lofts Bangalore again to victory



Gayle's fantastic form with the bat continued and he pulled Bangalore to victory with a glorious innings of 75 not out off 50 balls.

His knock lifted Bangalore to the top of the table with 19 points.

The Bangalore bowlers restricted the formidable Chennai to 128/8 and then won the match with ease, thanks to the great West Indian. This time the WIian was not swinging at every ball, but waiting for the loose ball to be punished. Gayle smashed Bollinger and Raina and his incredible innings proved to be the bane for Chennai.

Six sixes and four fours flowed off the bat of Gayle and he now has 511 runs in nine innings and he has taken the Orange Cap. He is followed Shaun Marsh with 504 runs. Kohli also played well, despatching the short balls to the fence.As Bangalore had lost Villers early, Kohli saw to that no furthur damage was done. Kohli made 31, before clipping Morkel into the hands of Ashwin.

Inserted into bat, CSK lost regular wickets, reaching a paltry 128/8. Dhoni top scored with 70 not out, smashing six sixes and three fours in his unbeaten knock of 70.

Dhoni smashed Mithun for 17 runs in one over. Mithun conceded 35 runs in his four overs, but then the rest of the Bangalore attack was penetrative. Zaheer bowled well for his 2/19, Vettori took 2/14 and Aravind 2/20 and Chennai was restricted to a meagre total. Zaheer initiated the slide in the third over, clean bowling Hussey and Chennai were 23/4 Then Saha ( 22 off 30 ) and Dhoni added 42 off 47 deliveries. Bravo and Morkel failed and the responsibilty of getting a good score was thrust on the shoulders of Dhoni.

The Indian captain blasted Gayle for two sixes and preserved his best for Mithun !
